About the work

Mayrhofers'  topic in paintings as well as in woodcut is about  traces, tracking of nature, which's permanently leaving marks. Here the artist starts to interfere. The once captured atmosphere first gets destroyed, later refound, "scraped out" and finally brought into manifest forms. This skinny character of her work is reminiscent of history, its processual manner and of narrativ techniques as well. There's a new, detectable moment behind every dropped skin . Mayrhofer thereby evokes an inspiring atmosphere for spinning further her artistical story.
